Please don't abuse the Internet

Recently, Chinese policemen found the syndicate using Internet video site for drug trafficking. Through the video network, the suspects performing drug usage, exchange feeling after drug and even can trade online. This proves the power of Internet but is being abused for criminal cases which will upset the users especially who are working to improve the Internet.

How can we prevent people to abuse the Internet? Do we need more cyber police or more Internet experts help to control? Will the advance of the Internet speed up the end of the world?

Will number of blogs surpass number of websites?

Technocrati estimated there were 215 million websites registered globally while registered blogs were 152 million in year 2010. Also, reported that 80 percent of existing blogs are written by hobbyists and self-employed bloggers. I foresee number of blogs will be increased to 200 million this year.
Btw, am I considered as hobbyists or self-employed blogger? Or may be I am one of the minorities.

Real Internet Business or Scam?

Recently found few websites promoting a new type of Internet business which can help you to generate fantastic income, makes you earn up to RM500 per day. Of course the only response from me to this is "WOW". This type of business looks fishy to me and let me post-mortem it.

First, the site owner (or called as the “SPONSOR”) will ask you to invest RM50 (paying into his / her bank account) so that allow you to use his / her name as well as bank account for transaction. The question here is why need to use SPONSOR bank account for transaction? If SPONSOR run away, who can guarantee? Assume SPONSOR not runaway with your RM50. If do, RM50 just a small amount to you but big amount if he / she manages to convince 1,000 investors (=RM50,000).

As an investor, your role just send at least one email a day which can make you earn RM50 day and if you send 10 then can earn RM500 a day. My question again, what kind of email to be sent can cost RM50? Even big advertiser also not willing to pay for RM50 per email sent in their email marketing campaign (typically may charge not more RM2.00 per email). Asking to send phishing email? Phising is a way of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. This is considered as cyber crime, please take note! I always trust nothing is FREE in the world.

If this can make you become millionaire, why the SPONSOR need to share this and why not he / she just do it and make $ for themselves? This model seem like money game run on member get member scheme. I suspect the business model run as follow:

Once you paid RM50 to the SPONSOR, you will become the SPONSOR and started to get people to pay you RM50 to join this program that’s why you can earn RM50 per email invitation. The more people that you invited to join you and pay you the RM50, the more you earn. This how it work!

Either is legal or illegal, halal or non-halal, the decision is on you…

How much do you know about E-Commerce

According to Wikipedia, Electronic commerce or E-Commerce is defined as buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. For me, I just rather to say E-Commerce is a business whereby the entrepreneur is selling products or services over the Internet, typically thru a website which commonly known as online store. There are 3 major types of E-Commerce:
  • Business to business (B2B)
  • Business to consumer (B2C)
  • Consumer to consumer (C2C)
More and more people kick start their E-Commerce as their main business or part-time business. E-Commerce is easy to start up with low investment as compared with brick and mortal business which easily can cost you about RM50,000.00 and above. A simple online store can be established less than RM5,000 and the yearly maintenance fee (usually used to pay for the web hosting fee and domain name renewal) only cost you about few hundreds. Brick and mortal business requires you to pay monthly rental of your shop to the land lord. Due to high investment and high maintenance fee to operate a brick and mortal business, will you consider to run your own online business?
